Founded — Community Development Program
Launched as an 18‑month intensive community development & leadership program focused on youth from marginalized and conflict‑affected areas.
Founded in 2012, Level Up College began as a community-driven initiative to provide youth in Kayah/Karenni State with practical, transformational higher-education opportunities. Guided by Bishop Sotero Phamo and supported by partners like MCAP and YLFC, the college evolved from an 18‑month community development certificate into a full diploma program and a pillar for local resilience and leadership.
Initially launched as the YLFC‑Level Up Program and officially registered as Level Up Academy in 2013, the institution focuses on equipping youth from marginalized and conflict‑affected communities with practical skills and leadership capacities. Programs developed over the years include Bridging Programs, Youth Skills & Community Engagement, Oasis, Career Pathways, UP (University Preparation), and Summer English.
"Despite relocations and national challenges, Level Up College remains committed to producing graduates who serve as positive change agents in their communities."As of December 2024 the college has celebrated nine commencement ceremonies and maintains an active alumni network working across the development sector.
